21x30 cm ~ Painting, Acrylic
When I painted this work, I recalled legends and stories about Ancient Egypt, discoveries and treasures of the pyramids, the mysterious East. And I wondered: how many secrets remain unrevealed within them?
The composition is built around a central triangular form—a pyramid rising above an abstract landscape. Or is it a mirage emerging in the scorching desert air? Bright flashes of red, orange, and blue create a sense of shimmering heat, where reality and vision intertwine. Dark areas add depth and mystery, like shadows of ancient ruins or entrances to hidden tombs.
The work is executed in oil with expressive, dynamic brushstrokes. A reflection in water (or sand?) doubles the image, intensifying the mirage effect—something that could vanish at any moment. The light center of the composition contrasts with saturated colors at the edges, creating the effect of hot sun breaking through the haze.
"Eastern Mirage" is a work about the mysteries of ancient civilizations, about how the past flickers in the present, about enigmas that humanity has been trying to solve for millennia.
Ideal for spaces with ethnic or eclectic elements, such as living rooms, offices, libraries, and galleries, the vibrant palette makes this work a focal point of the interior. The horizontal format is perfect for placing above a sofa, fireplace, or in a long hallway. It's especially striking in rooms with warm lighting, which enhances the shimmering effect of red-orange tones.
