35x25 cm ~ Painting, Acrylic
Hidden beneath the layers of paint is a story: I initially wanted to paint an iris, but that idea never came to fruition. This "mistake" evolved into a concept: the form reads as a flower, an abstract silhouette, and a burst of light. The rich texture creates an almost textured surface, where each layer tells its own story. The work explores how the past is always with us, how "failures" can become the most interesting element, and how art lives its own life, often contrary to the artist's intentions. The past doesn't disappear—it manifests here through the present as a white, ghostly silhouette. Like memory. Like something we try to forget, yet it remains.
The work is executed using a multi-layered painting technique, where chance becomes part of the design. Vibrant vertical streams of orange, red, yellow, and turquoise create a dynamic movement, reminiscent of a sunset sky or an abstract landscape. They seem to flow and ripple, like molten lava or stained glass.
Within these warm, pulsating stripes lies a delicate interweaving of fine threads or lace, softly glowing against the darker background—a trace of previous work that cannot be completely concealed. It appears almost like a fragile, natural shoot or thread, or emerald patterns delicately etched into glass. The interplay of bold, warm verticals and the fragile white central mass creates a dynamic contrast: strength and fragility, warmth and coolness, density and grace. The image can symbolize the tension and harmony between natural forces—growth arising through fire or struggle, light penetrating shadow.
The painting fits perfectly into modern interiors, vertical spaces, and narrow walls. It is ideal for a living room, study, or creative space. The vibrant palette creates an energetic mood and is suitable for spaces requiring a visual accent.
