40x40 cm ~ Painting, Acrylic
When I conceived this painting, I recalled Eastern tales and films, "1001 Nights." I wanted to convey the fairy-tale quality, the Eastern flavor. And let it not be a specific Eastern city. On the contrary, indefinite building silhouettes, the atmosphere and color of the East, which will draw the viewer into the narrow streets of the old city, where the air is filled with the scent of Eastern dishes and spices, to climb upward where the main buildings of the city stand.
Silhouettes with spires and towers rise against a deep blue sky—this could be a sultan's palace, mosques, or a fairy-tale city from legend. Warm shades of orange, pink, and red create the feeling of sunset or sunrise, when the city is wrapped in soft light. Vertical paint drips resemble rain streaming down the walls of ancient buildings, or simply the passage of time, blurring the clear boundaries between reality and fairy tale.
The work is executed in textured acrylic with rich relief, creating an almost three-dimensional effect. The technique of layering paints and drips adds mystery and depth. The dark background intensifies the brightness of the central composition, making the city appear like a mirage emerging from the night.
"Fantasy country" is a work about dreams, about fairy-tale worlds that live in our imagination. About the East, which beckons with its mysteries, aromas, and legends.
Ideal for spaces with oriental or eclectic elements, such as living rooms, bedrooms, offices, and relaxation areas. The horizontal format is perfect for placing above a sofa, bed, or fireplace. Its vibrant palette and dreamlike atmosphere make it a wonderful accent piece, evoking a sense of travel and romance. It's especially striking in spaces with warm lighting, which accentuates the golden-red tones.
